Digital Patient Journey

The Digital Patient Journey has the objective of facilitating the interaction of the patient with the Diagnostic Imaging field of the Clinics Hospital of the University of São Paulo Medical School (HCFMUSP), digitalizing the contact between them. With this, it is sought to develop a humanized experience centered on the patient needs, increasing the efficiency of processes, and generating public resource savings.

The Digital Patient Journey is part of the digital transformation strategy of the Clinics Hospital, a complex formed by 8 specialized Institutes, 2 Auxiliary Hospitals, 66 medical investigation laboratories (LIM), 2.5 thousand beds, and 20 thousand professionals in the most diverse professions. Each year, over 1 million and 400 thousand outpatient consultations and over 1 million imaging examinations are carried out.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, the digital transformation became urgent both to tackle the overload of the local health systems and attend to the examinations and consultations that ended up being backlogged in the Diagnostic Imaging area of the HCFMUSP.
